 Careers at Chippingford

Chippingford seeks experienced primary teachers with a clear love of teaching at the (early) primary level and who are also entrepreneurial and interested in helping to build a new, unique school model with an experienced team of school builders and educators.

This role involves teaching in a classroom with a small group size to enable individualized learning (i.e. ~6-8 students, who will be 5-8 years old at the start of the school year) working on K-3rd grade level skills.

Beyond the teaching role, we are ideally looking for teachers who are capable of helping the founding team plan for future growth of the school, focusing on the academic aspects of the program (e.g., curriculum development).

The Chippingford model, described in more detail in our Mission and Values, is being developed because a core group of families in the Los Angeles area have a bigger vision for education, not only for their own children, but that will benefit other children as well. They have envisioned a school that is deeply rooted in community, and supports children to pursue intellectual curiosity, open-mindedness, and virtues-based, successful lives.

Minimum Requirements for the Role:

  • At least 5 years teaching experience in the K, 1, 2, and/or 3 “grade levels”

  • Successful and demonstratable record of success in teaching skills, including, but not limited to, phonics

  • Entrepreneurial sprit and passion for our Mission/Vision/Core Values

  • Additional characteristics considered:

    • Experience in teaching individualized lessons while managing other students in scaffolded activities

    • Teaching Credential and/or other educational coursework

    • Training in Montessori and or Project Based Learning techniques

    • Experience teaching a multi-age group of students

    • Comfort and enthusiasm for working in faith-based programs and sharing of one’s own faith in God

    • Bilingual in Spanish (or other language)
